The truth is……it makes me nervous; really nervous, like…Brad won’t even let me drink it if he’s around because I get paranoid. And even if I used decaffeinated coffee, the milk inside the mix makes me sick. So, when I DO drink “coffee” it’s usually just whip cream and caramel in a cup or decaf coffee with soy milk…no ice. I feel like such a whimp when I order at CC’s but I guess it’s worth it for the pure enjoyment of someone else’s company.
There are a few friends that love to have “coffee” with….which is really just an excuse to hang out. I don’t really need the caffeine (in fact, I think have enough energy that I should NOT have caffeine), only the time to catch up. 🙂 It’s kind of like when I go tailgating or watch a football game. As bad as it sounds, I’m more interested in hanging out with my friends than I am in the game.
So, we’ve made it a weekly tradition. It’s still in its early stages, but Erin Falgout has become one of my closest friends and I love that we are setting aside time once a week for about an hour to just relax and enjoy the break. Erin is also a wedding photographer in the Lafayette area; she and her husband own Adam & Erin Falgout Photography. We recently made a trip together to visit Farrah Brantiff’s studio (Houston Portrait Photographer) and I laughed SO hard on that trip I came home with tears stains on my cheeks and a sore stomach.
Someone reminded me yesterday that while I was studying architecture, I had NO time for my friends…and that I had to be understanding of that in others. In addition to being understanding, now that I am working fulltime, I am doing my best to use what little free time I DO have to make up for lost time, reconnect with friends, meet new friends, and make my relationships stronger. Brad and I have dedicated Friday nights as “Date Night” and I’m taking whatever’s left to do personal projects and push myself creatively.
As cool as it looks and sounds to say it’s a real cup of coffee, I’m still a whimp sipping on Whip Cream and Caramel. 🙂
Catherine – Aawww you’re so sweet! I love hanging out with you too. Thanks for being so flexible to come over early in the morning even though you’d totally rather be sleeping!
