What I am about to blog is not only exciting, but also deserves a formal introduction. 🙂
What or rather should I say…WHO I am referring to, is Amelia. When I first met Amelia, we were in a car together with mutual friends waiting for food in the drive through line at taco bell. I had verbalized my excitement about a recent bridal shoot and she mentioned her strong interest in photography. Over the months that followed, I came to realize that both her passion and her character were genuine.
I personally believe that anyone can be taught the skills and can nurture the creativity necessary to become a great photographer. It’s her considerate nature, hardworking/dedicated personality and loyalty as a person that I feel set her apart from others.
For quite some time now, I have been thinking of hiring someone to shoot consistently with me. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with several talented photographers in the past and was ready to have someone to work for all of my weddings. Since our original meeting, I have grown to trust Amelia as a friend and I knew in my gut she was the person I wanted to invite to my team.
About 3 or so months ago, Amelia and I had lunch when I proposed the idea; she immediately expressed her excitement for the opportunity and we jumped right in. The past few months have been quite the adventure.
Beginning with our first Love Drop shoot together and progressing into weddings shortly thereafter, I couldn’t be more impressed with Amelia and the way that she has surpassed all my expectations so far! 🙂
As of Day 1 she has been dedicated, enthusiastically assisting the couples, the bridal parties, their friends/family members, and myself. She has caught on quickly to the technical aspects of photography and I feel that her natural talent and pure care for the work she produces will be of great benefit to all the couples we work with.
I couldn’t feel more fortunate! Amelia is funny…VERY funny 🙂 and, it’s been incredible having her there. Beginning last Friday, we road tripped from Lafayette to Pensacola Beach and back for our first destination wedding together. And on Monday we flew to Las Vegas for our second. It’s been quite the crazy ride and I am so happy to have shared this experience with her.
I am excited for for all of my clients to meet Amelia and work with her. I am looking forward to many great memories and to sharing our future adventures here on the blog.
The above photo was taken after our first destination wedding in Pensacola Beach with Jennifer + Daniel. 🙂
Lastly, I would like to say thank you to Amelia for your diligence and loyalty. J Your hard work is greatly appreciated; and I am excited to continue this journey together. Whether we’re rolling with the windows down and the music up or shooting in the midst of the summer heat…things definitely would not be the same without you! 🙂
