Last night, we wrapped up Mirada + Chris’s engagement session with hugs. And just as I pulled away from Mirada, she turned to her car and grabbed a pink bag stuffed with tissue. “It’s for you!” She said with a smile, “….for your birthday.”
Seriously, how cool is that? Could I BE more lucky than to have such wonderful clients? She handed me the bag and with excitement I opened my birthday gift. Inside, I pulled out a box labeled Nikkor 24-70 1:1. Ok…so I’m a total nerd because the first thing I thought was, “1:1?” The aperture on my 24-70 is a 2.8…PLUS, why would they have a 24-70 box unless they were giving me something for my lens? But then what could it be??? As you can tell…I was experiencing total confusion.
So, then, I opened the box to reveal what you see me sipping on below. Although, I didn’t realize what it was instantly. It was lightweight, however…an IDENTICAL representation of my lens. So, the moment I pulled it out of the box, I turned to Chris with a smile and asked, “WHAT IS IT?!” LOL
It is a refillable metal bottle….a replica of my Nikkor 24-70. I just need to make sure that I don’t confuse it with my real lens and show up on a shoot with it!!! I ran into a photographer friend of mine shortly after and he was amazed as well!!!! We both decided it’d be a fun tool to plan tricks on people with. 🙂
I am so excited to be celebrating my birthday today! I’m looking forward to lunch with my mom and dinner with my friends this evening. And in addition to all of that goodness, I’m just thankful to have so many wonderful clients who I feel truly appreciate what I do for a living. 🙂 Without them…I wouldn’t be able to have a career doing something that I’m so passionate about….
So glad we made you smile!!love it!!:)
